Peter Lindbergh: The Naked Truth

Naked Truth is another beautiful photo shoot from the legendary German photographer Peter Lindbergh for Vogue Germany June 2012. In this series, Lindbergh photographed eleven well known women unadorned, makeup free, and unadulterated by photoshop, just their pure natural beauty.

" I try to be truthful in my work. There are no short cuts - if you set out with the intention of making people ugly to achieve a powerful photograph it is a fake. On the other hand beauty cannot be 'done'. Again I come back to this nebulous word 'truth' : perhaps more than anything it is trying to explain something truthful about yourself and about your perception of the way the woman sees herself. "
Excerpt from the book " Images of Women."

Jean-François Rauzier's HYPERPHOTOS; An Invitation to An Exceptional Journey

Think BIG with this series of hyper-detailed photographs. The French digital artist Jean-François Rauzier creates a world beyond limits, spectacular panoramic landscapes in which the huge and the tiny are melded together, into the same vision.

Between installation and photography, Hyperphotos are gigantic hyperrealist puzzle, photographic reconstructions of real places, created by assembling hundreds of close-up shots taken with a telephoto lens. Rauzier's evocative images transport the viewer into a fantastic universe, a dreamworld.

"Hyperphotos are the realization of an old dream that would be impossible without digital technology: to see the big picture and at the same time the close-up, to stop time and be able to examine all the details of the fixed image."
~~ Jean-François Rauzier

Hyperphotos are currently on exhibit at Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris Art District.

Gwen Murphy: Foot Fetish Series

American artist Gwen Murphy developed her fascination for shoes at early age. She sees a shoe as a kind of fetish, because it has a presence, and the power to protect and transport us.

" Since I was a very young child I have looked at shoes and found them looking back at me, each pair with its particular personality and facial expression. Mouths yawning open, they sometimes look sleepy, grouchy, or fierce."
~~ Gwen Murphy

Murphy's sculpture series began in 2005. Since then, she has made close to 60 pairs of shoe sculptures, using only shoes that were second-hand, cast-offs, or found on roadside.

A few of the Foot Fetishes have been made entirely of clay, others of repurposed hardwood forms beautifully carved and found in Massachusetts, which was once home to a booming shoe industry.
